1) Parties and Scope

This platform (the "Site") is operated by Axis Maps for the California Coalition for Black Birth Justice (CCBBJ), a fiscally sponsored program of the Public Health Institute (PHI). The Site provides curated information from publicly available sources for informational purposes only. It does not provide individualized services nor, except as necessary to operational purposes, collect personal information. These Terms of Use govern access and use of the Site and its content.

2) Eligibility and Accounts

CCBBJ welcomes Site users to join its community in advancing the birth justice movement and contributing to its vision of safe and joyous pregnancy, birth, and postpartum outcomes for all families, particularly Black families. Site users:

·      Receive credentials from CCBBJ staff, enabling access to Site content.

·      Benefit from access as a privilege that requires a sign-in protocol. Users are advised to keep their credentials confidential and not to share access.

·      Accept responsibility for their actions with the credentials provided by CCBBJ.

·      Understand that while the Site does not collect personal information or track Site user accounts, standard technical data (e.g., server logs, basic analytics) may be processed in connection with Site operations.

·      Understand and agree that CCBBJ may suspend or terminate access for misuse or security concerns.

·      Support emails may be routed to CCBBJ for handling.

3) Acceptable Use

The Site presents publicly available information and data to support equitable decision-making and the work of advocates, policymakers, philanthropists, researchers, and governmental bodies. The Site does not limit access or resources based on protected characteristics. Site Users are expected to honor the intent of CCBBJ to offer a comprehensive data tool that helps to advance better understandings of the birth equity landscape, and to not:

·      Attempt to bypass authentication or security controls

·      Scrape, bulk download, or sell (or resell) Site content

·      Upload malicious code or misuse forms and submission features

·      Harass, threaten, or violate the privacy of any fellow Site user, individual or organization whose name appears in Site content, or who is identified through Site use.

4) Content and Accuracy

CCBBJ aims to provide truthful, accurate, and verifiable information. The Site supports informational purposes only (and not, for example, medical or legal advice), does not guarantee completeness or accuracy in its efforts to reflect current, publicly available information as of the time of information postings, and does not endorse content or information providers whose external links may be accessed through the Site. Site users are advised:

·      Organization and policy information is provided "as is" and may change.

·      CCBBJ and Axis Maps disclaim warranties and do not guarantee completeness or fitness of Site content for a particular purpose.

5) Data You Submit

Site users are encouraged to report any corrections or updates to Site content via the "Suggest a correction" form; approved changes will be reflected with a "Last updated" timestamp. Please note:

·      By submitting content (e.g., corrections, links, files), you grant CCBBJ and Axis Maps a non-exclusive license to review, store, and display it for Site operations.

·      Do not submit confidential, protected health information or personally identifiable information beyond what submission forms request, or provide copyrighted material without permission.

6) Privacy

CCBBJ and Axis Maps respect Site users’ privacy and aim to be transparent about data practices associated with Site operations.

·      Minimal data from Site users is collected for authentication, analytics, and support.

·      Site users are referred to the Site's Privacy Notice for details on cookies, logs, and retention.

7) Intellectual Property

CCBBJ, Axis Maps, and Site users share responsibilities with respect to intellectual property rights.

·      CCBBJ is committed to honoring intellectual property rights—such as but not limited to copyright—in determining appropriate use and eligibility for inclusion, representation, and/or incorporation with content resources of the Site.

·      Trademarks and logos belong to their owners and may not be used on the Site without consent.

·      If you believe that material available on the Site infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to CCBBJ’s designated contact at: [connect@cablackbirthjustice.com] Your notice should include: (i) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (ii) identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit CCBBJ to locate the material on the Site (such as a URL); (iii) your name, address, telephone number, and email address; (iv) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

8) Third-Party Services

The Site is made possible through engagement by CCBBJ with select third-party services. Authentication and hosting may, in particular, rely on third parties (e.g., Google). Their terms apply where relevant.

9) Changes and Availability

Features and access may change without notice. CCBBJ may also update these Terms from time to time; continued use means acceptance of changes.
